We have decided to start a blog because, well, we are quite overwhelmed at this point! Our adoption journey is in fast forward right now, and we can't keep up!
We started our journey about 3 years ago. Realizing we could not have any other children, we decided to grow our family through adoption. We have had highs and lows through the last 3 years. Now, though, I think we are finally moving forward!
We got a phone call from our agency on Saturday afternoon letting us know that a birthmother had contacted the agency. She was due the next day (yesterday), and she had decided to place her baby up for adoption. The agency wanted to know if we were prepared to travel "at a moment's notice"!! Since we have been waiting for 3 years, "at a moment's notice" was music to our ears. She and her boyfriend met with a social worker that evening, looked at 5 different families, and decided to place their child with us! We were able to talk on the phone to her yesterday. They seem to be very intelligent and sure of their plan. All I can say is "WOW"!
She met with her MD today. He wants her to either go into labor on her own, or he will induce next Tuesday.
So, we wait for the BIG phone call! Thanks for all of your support and prayers during our adoption journey. Anna and Jude jump everytime the phone rings. They can't wait to welcome a baby brother (did I mention we are having a BOY?)!! We are excited to share this part of our journey with you! Stay tuned....I think the best is yet to come!

ReplyDeleteOf course, we are so excited for you guys, and will certainly be praying for your family as well as your new baby boy. I hope that he decides to make his big debut sooner than later. I know that you guys are going to continue to jump everytime the phone rings in anticipation of the big day. The blog was a great idea because I'm sure that it is exhausting because so many of us want to keep updated, but you don't have time to call everyone with each new development. Again, we are so happy for your family. Please let us know if there is anything at all that we can do. God is great!
